An Important Announcement From Conan O’Brien

Lol can’t wait!

Super Busy

I’m back and apparently I am very busy! This means that blogging gets the shorthand this time and unfortunately I just have no time. Just to give you a picture of how I am busy:

1) I have 5 upper division classes each requiring at least 8 hours per week.

2) I now work as a TA for a CIS class and that is time consuming as well.

3) Ramadan is just killing my time so hopefully once that is done I might squeeze more time for blogging.

4) With all that I still need to get some exercise which is VERY time consuming.

So there you go people, that’s life with a touch of meh ;) !

Viva Las Vegas!

I am fully aware that is Ramadan and it isn’t really convenient to go to Vegas now but I usually just walk around and see shows. Even if I wanted to do something, I’m not 21 yet so I can’t really do anything let alone book a hotel on the strip.

Bood and I arrived Thursday night after a fun road trip hungry as hell. Fatburger was our first option but we missed the turn and it was too crowded anyway. So our next choice is room service. We checked in at the Trump International hoping that room service is still open. I haven’t had the best of experiences with room service but wow I did not expect their food to be this good. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture (because I was that hungry) and just digged in!

Then Friday came and now this when the action starts. First we both overslept and might have slept even more if it wasn’t for house keeping. Seeing how most of the day is gone, we booked 2 massages at the Trump till our shows start. The massage was nothing I have ever experienced before. I am usually tense during massages and therefore making it difficult for the masseuse as they always complain. Not this time though, I was surprisingly relaxed.

After the massage we rushed to the Tropicana to our next show: Brad Garret’s Comedy Club. Boy did we have fun (cause we were in the front row). Mike Saccone and Dom Irera performed that night. Mike Saccone started and he was hilarious. Then Dom Irera come and that is when the fun started. I saw him back in November 2008 when he toured with Russell Peters. The only difference this time is the smaller crowd and US sitting in the front row. So he starts picking on people in the crowd for numerous reasons but never found anything to pick on us. Until Bood ordered water :P ! He saw the bottles and he was like “Why aren’t you drinking?”, I told him I am not of age (didn’t want to make it bigger than it is) and that’s when it started. Dom then started asking where are we from and from there on he forgot about his act lol. All of a sudden he starts talking about how most Arabs aren’t terrorist and all that crap. But he was very creative in his questioning. I thought he would just focus on us for the rest of the night but no, he brought us back at the best time. For example, there was this guy who can’t stop coughing, so he asked how do you tell a guy in Arabic “Stop coughing you are ruining my set!”. I’m not going to write everything he said about us but as you can see it was a fun night.

Going to Vegas in Ramadan is an experience. Not that I would do it again but hey, now I can say I did it ;p!

Review: Blackberry Torch

I bought the Blackberry Torch a week ago and I got it on Sunday.

First Impression: Let’s start with the box. It was very small compared to any phone I ever bought maybe even the smallest. Another thing was the charger, it looks more like the iPhone charger now with the detachable usb. The phone itself was a bit bigger than I expected but not too big to whine about. OS 6 on the other hand is amazing and made me love Blackberry all over again.

This is the box compared to the 9700 box.

This is the charger compared to a US quarter.

Display: Is very clear and sharp maybe the best from Blackberry but still not close to the iPhone 4. Its big enough for smooth touching but typing on it is a bit compact but I can adapt.

Battery: Surprisingly the battery performs well compared to the 9700 and iPhone.

Data Input: Both the keyboard on screen and the physical are very responsive and smooth. Can’t complain there.

Memory: Nothing to brag about just the usual memory you get in smartphones.

Navigation and Blackberry Maps: It wasn’t working and I don’t think it can compete with Android phones as some have turn by turn navi.

Finally Back: Travel Hell

After more than 24 hrs (again), I am back in Arizona. This is one of my worst travelling experience ever. I took the weirdest route to get to PHX and that was through Frankfurt then Chicago. I have never entered the US through Chicago and it would be the last time. Airports like Chicago, Atlanta, LAX, are very crowded and lines already form before you even get there. Where as in PHX and DC either you are the first to get there or there is only one other airline that landed with you. If anything the line goes by much faster in these 2 airports. Not Chicago! Apparently my flight landed with a Korean plane which are a handful. I noticed that when Koreans go for their turn the process takes forever while others much faster. So I blame Koreans for missing my national flight! From there on it was downhill. I mean the flight to Frankfurt and Chicago were very good (I upgraded the Chicago one) but still it’s all in the end. So after I missed my first flight, they canceled the second flight as soon as the second the plane arrived and booked me on a third flight. Once that was done I had to move to another terminal and go through security again! The agent failed to tell me that all terminals are connected and I just could have taken a long walk to my gate. So after 6+ hours of waiting in Chicago I finally get on my flight to PHX.

When I landed in PHX the person on the aisle forgot his wallet on the plane. So you can imagine me trying to catch up with him but I think he really wanted to see his family as he was in a rush. After I gave up on finding him I just gave it to the information desk hoping you can get it in time. After that I realized that US Airways delivered all their bags and mine were not one of them. So then I line up at baggage services only for them to tell me my bag MIGHT come on the next flight. So much for tracking the bag. As I was leaving the guy who lost his wallet came to thank me and next thing I know he hugged me. It felt good that despite me having one of my worst days, I made someone else’s good. Now I wish my day stopped there. I reach home, ah yes home sweet home, to find a lake of water just waiting for me. With the monsoon season in Arizona, apparently the humidity from the rain a motor that is supposed to take the water out and just started leaking. Thankfully the apt manager showed up and fixed it, bear in mind its a weekend and its like 9. So that got fixed after a while and YES, I wished it stopped there. My cable wasn’t working nor was my internet. I tried to shower but there was so much calcium build up on the shower head that it couldn’t even drip water. I sweat so much on this journey that I think an Indian would have said I smelled. I didn’t have my bags so I couldn’t really change my clothes. This is where I just took a deep breath and just lay on the bed.

I hope you liked to hear me suffer because I feel so much better just writing about it :P . Everything is ok now if you were wondering!

Ground Zero Mosque: Grow Up Americans!

All this commission for nothing. This “Ground Zero Mosque” thing is being blown WAY out of proportion. Its a freakin community center for EVERY ONE! Its not a mosque its not a place of worship. Its a community center where you can play basketball swim and maybe do some activities. It has nothing to do with Islam, it does not house terrorists. Every day I see my American friends and groups popping up on facebook protesting about this. My god people calm the f*** down and listen for a change. The community center is 4 blocks away not even 600 ft. Stop making something out of nothing. Americans are the just the most gullible people in the world! I want everyone to see this video so that you can see the facts and how misinformed and idiotic Americans can be. Keith Olbermann just became my favorite guy in the world. As the old saying goes “barad chabdi” !

Review: Stan Lee’s Superhumans

Being in Kuwait there is nothing better to do than to give unknown shows a chance and that exactly what I have been doing. After registering in a private torrent tracker I get access to shows that are usually not found in public torrents sites for no apparent reason. So far I watched 2 episodes of this series and it is very interesting and new.

Review: Stan Lee’s Superhumans is a documentary television series on the History channel about superhumans, people with extraordinary physical or mental abilities. The series is hosted by comic book superhero creator Stan Lee and superhuman Daniel Browning Smith. Smith is the most flexible man in the world. Each episode there are numerous superhumans. So far the series showed the Electro Man (above), Human Calculator, Radar, Strong Man, and many more. Imagine a man who can calculate math faster than a calculator. Imagine a blind man that can sense his surroundings by echoing sound. Imagine a man bending an unbendable wrench. These are the superhumans that you will see in this series.

Rating: ★★★★☆

The trials they put some of the superhumans in are predictable and should be more complex and if anything more trials. The trials that they are put in are too brief and don’t think is a measure of their full capabilities. Its an ongoing series so let’s hope it gets better from here.

Makkah Standard Time

I am in awe of this project. Kudos to developers in Saudi!

I don’t feel like translating this so this is most of the description:
