Review: Sherlock

Story: Basically a modern Sherlock with a blackberry and Dr. Watson a Afghanistan veteran.

Review: I saw this show pop up on one of the torrent sites and was very curious as to what it was. Then all of a sudden I read reviews about how good it was and it was British. To be honest I have never seen a bad British show and I am a big fan of them. The last British mini-series I saw was Boy Meets Girl which coincidentally has the same actor Martin Freeman who is hilarious in his own way. I loved the story and obviously loved the characters. I mean who doesn’t love Sherlock Holmes? This Sherlock is like the Robert Downey Jr. one only ruder and less charming. Dr. Watson on the other hand is more serious and kind of useless compared to the book and movie. The only downside to this show is that it is more like a movie. So far there has been 3 episodes and every episode is more than 90 mins! Less than a day ago it was been confirmed that BBC will renew Sherlock for another season. Overall I loved the series because it sticks to the book in terms of the names and even their address but also make it relevant to the 21st century. Cheers!

The Oregon Trail

I remember back when I was in elementary school playing this game on the REALLY old Macs :P . I can’t believe they finally made this into a movie! First the smurfs and now this. This actually might be good cause the trailer is hilarious to those who played this game.

Inception 5 Days Later

Still WTF. I think I need a totem lol! (Go see it!)

Facebook: The Movie

The upcoming Facebook Movie, “The Social Network” is set to be released on the 1st of October, this year. The movie stars Jesse Eisenberg (from Zombieland), Andrew Garfield (from the upcoming Spiderman Reboot), Justin Timberlake, and Rashida Jones (from “I Love You man”, The Office). When they announced that they’re doing the movie, I had a negative view on it. But when I saw the trailer, it shows that its being taken seriously, talking about the stolen idea conspiracy and about the  privacy concerns, rather than the merits of Facebook. It has a dark vibe opposite to what you’d expect from a movie about Facebook . You have to watch the trailer to know what I’m talking about, and you can do so below…

Batman 3 Script Is Under Way!

At a press junket promoting Nolan’s latest project, “Inception,” the upcoming psychological thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio, the filmmaker told MTV News that he’s already thinking about “Batman 3″ — well, sort of. “Yes and no I suppose would be the answer,” he said. “We know we’re aiming for 2012 [as a release date]. That’s been talked about. We’re just working on the script, really. My brother [Jonah Nolan] has been hard at work on it for quite some time. It’s based on a story that myself and David Goyer have written.”

I am so looking forward for this. I guess the only thing we can do is sit and wait.

Movie Review: The A-Team

Story: A group of Iraq War veterans looks to clear their name with the U.S. military, who suspect the four men of committing a crime for which they were framed,

Review: Going into this movie after seeing the trailer, I had expected much less. Fortunately I underestimated this movie! I loved every second of this movie. It was funny, it was thrilling, it was entertaining. The story was very simple and in general was predictable but that didn’t change the fact that this was a good movie! The characters remained the same from the old show but with a modern touch which I respect because they didn’t make them “hollywood”. Now the weird things about the movie.

First why are they drinking blue label from istikanas :P (bear in mind they were in Iraq in the start) ? Who would have thought istikanas can be good shot glasses lol. Also because I sky dived, I know that after 14000 ft you would need an oxygen mask to breathe because of the lack of oxygen. Apparently that fact didn’t matter to the movie because they are the A-TEAM! Finally since when is the Yasser Arafat look Arab? I mean a suit with a black gu6ra is like old school who the hell does it anymore. Thats why I felt the movie was a bit weird in that department.

Verdict: Deserved it’s time and would recommend watching it.

Mortal Kombat: Rebirth

The Mortal Kombat brand is up for a reboot… look at this interesting trailer video below.

It was reported earlier this year that Warner Bros. secured a writer for an upcoming Mortal Kombat movie, and Ed Boon, the MK creator said he’s working on taking Mortal Kombat 9 (the upcoming game) back to the series’ hyper-violent roots. However, it has not yet been disclosed if this trailer concerns the reboot of the movie or the game, but for sure it sparks some interest into the franchise as a whole. What do you think? Is this trailer for the movie, game… or both? any additional thoughts?

Movie Review: Get Him To The Greek

Story: Aaron Greenberg (Hill) gets things done. The ambitious 23-year-old has exaggerated his way into a dream job just in time for a career-making assignment. His mission: Fly to London and escort a rock god to L.A.s Greek Theatre for the first-stop on a $100-million tour. His warning: Turn your back on him at your own peril.

Review: One thing I hate about comedy movies is that they usually give out most of the jokes in the trailer. Not this movie! Apparently they used funny deleted scenes not shown in theaters but will be seen on DVD. That is a sign that this movie or their marketing team is pretty good. I really enjoyed this movie from start to finish unlike most comedies where you get this dead silence somewhere in the movie. What I loved about Get Him to the Greek is the fact that it was character driven and not plot driven. I really appreciate it when writers try to actually write a movie then a few jokes. The cast was almost perfect and Sean Combs actually did a good job … as a rapper turned actor. Yet not the best acting of his life but he is on the right track.

Verdict: You will not regret going to it!

Btw I didn’t realize this but this movie is actually a spin-off of Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Same rock star character ;P!
