Hulu Plus

Plus-landing-mast-logo

Hulu announced “Hulu +” a couple of weeks ago, which is a premiere service of Hulu that:

1) Offers more TV shows
2) Offer complete seasons to various shows (rather than the last 5 episodes as usual)
3) Offers Hulu on iDevices (iPhones/iPads/iPods), on the PS3, some Samsung internet connected TV’s and various Blu-ray players, not to forget computers of course.

This premiere service costs $9.99 a month and is available to select users. Selects users are those who sign up for invitations on the Hulu website, or those who are subscribers in the recent Playstation Plus program (which features games, game previews, and discounts/early purchases, and costs users $50 per year).

The Hulu+ feature wont be available just for select users forever, just for this try out phase for Hulu. As for the Xbox, it will be the next device to launch Hulu +, but that won’t happen in 2010.
I am not sure how this will affect non-US users, but it is certainly a good option for those of us in the US. In my opinion, I prefer using Netflix which I bet has a larger selection of shows and movies, and is also cheaper, and is available on most devices.

So what do you think? Is it worth it to subscribe to Hulu Plus?

Facebook: The Movie

The upcoming Facebook Movie, “The Social Network” is set to be released on the 1st of October, this year. The movie stars Jesse Eisenberg (from Zombieland), Andrew Garfield (from the upcoming Spiderman Reboot), Justin Timberlake, and Rashida Jones (from “I Love You man”, The Office). When they announced that they’re doing the movie, I had a negative view on it. But when I saw the trailer, it shows that its being taken seriously, talking about the stolen idea conspiracy and about the  privacy concerns, rather than the merits of Facebook. It has a dark vibe opposite to what you’d expect from a movie about Facebook . You have to watch the trailer to know what I’m talking about, and you can do so below…

HP Slide Killed… Or the Android Version Atleast

Ever since HP bought Palm for insane amounts of money, the company has slashed its intended tablet that runs on Android, a tablet that would have been released by now to compete with the iPad. Since then, HP intends to use Palm proprietary software WebOS, a badass mobile operating system that basically dominated multi-tasking by using the “cards” feature; in their upcoming tablet. More information on WebOS can be seen in video below in the form of Pre, one of Palm’s most recent batch of phones.
